Marketplace Connecting Home Owners to Domestic Cleaners
Domestly is a South African start-up that launched in 2015. Their app aims ti connect users to reliable cleaning services similar to that of SweepSouth. The app enables the user to select a professional domestic cleaner, based on reviews, experience etc. Other app features include the ability for the user to track completion of house work and make an electronic payment within the app. The CEO, Berno Potgeiter, thought that it was an opportune time to disrupt the ‘old’ home services industry, this was the inspiration for Domestly. Based in Cape Town, the start up has scaled in other locations including Midrand, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Centurion.
More recently Domestly has been able to secure institutional funding from Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) to further expand their business.
